The Multiplex Cinemas at Town Center Plaza is a convenient place to catch a movie in East Windsor. Located in the same center as Shoprite. This cinema has the latest popular movies, in addition to an Indian movie playing regularly. There are typically no lines and this theater is never really crowded. Check the website for half-priced nights and senior discounts. If you are meeting up with friends, it may be fun to hit TGI Fridays before or after your movie. This theater is just what you would expect from a local movie theater.

Princeton Garden is located right on Nassau Street in the heart of Princeton. This older theater has a classic charm nestled right amongst the many eateries and shops located in Princeton. Princeton Garden is a great place to catch a movie and enjoy all that Princeton has to offer. Although, this theater usually shows a limited number of movies, it’s old time classic theater feel makes the experience. Parking in Princeton can be a little tricky so you want to leave some extra time.

Once you’re dried off, it’s time for a trip to the Field of Terror right in East Windsor. Here you can go on a heart pounding hayride for the thrill of a life time. The Haunted Corn Maze has surprizes at every turn. Don’t like having your socks scared of you? Then try the Family Friendly Flashlight Maze. Bring your own flashlight and enjoy a non-scary, fun walk through the maze. Throughout the Field of Terror are concessions of wonderful food and drinks.

Cranbury Station Road Re-opens to Traffic

Mercer County has completed bridge reconstruction and associated road repaving begun in the fall of 2009. Cranbury Station Road connects to Wyckoffs Mill Road in East Windsor and crosses over the Millstone River into Cranbury Townships in the northeastern section of the Township. A portion of the Township owned Cranbury Station Road, from Tennyson Road to the newly widened County bridge, was reconstructed as part of this County project.

Millstone Watershed Wide Cleanup Event

East Windsor Will Participate in the Fourth Annual Stony Brook – Millstone Watershed – Wide Cleanup Event on Sunday, May 2, from 1 PM to 3 PM, rain or shine, at Anker Park. Volunteers should wear boots and long sleeves and bring work gloves, if possible. Adults must accompany minors. T-shirts and refreshments will be provided. East Windsor Township and the Stony Brook – Millstone Watershed Association are sponsoring this event. Free White Pine Seedlings

East Windsor Township Environmental Commission Promotes Arbor Day with Free Distribution of White Pine Seedlings on Saturday, May 1 at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM or until supplies run out. The seedlings will be available on a first-come first-served basis at the East Windsor Police Athletic Fields on Airport Road. White pines are a hardy, adaptable species of evergreen tree that can grow 50 to 80 feet tall. They are suitable as buffers or windscreens when planted in groups, as well as individual specimen plantings.

Memorial Tree Program for Arbor Day

East Windsor Promotes Memorial Tree Program for Arbor Day on Friday, April 30 by planting a tree under the Township Memorial Tree Grove Program. This Memorial Tree Program offers Township residents a unique opportunity to provide a living memorial to a deceased relative or friend or in remembrance or commemoration of a special person, group or event. The Township Memorial Tree Grove is located on the grounds of the East Windsor Municipal Building along Lanning Boulevard. Trees may be ordered through the Township Public Works Department at a cost of $250 per tree which includes a granite marker with the name of the deceased person or event to be remembered and tree planting. Brochures describing the program, including an order form, are available at the Township Municipal Building or by calling 443-4000, ext. 237.

East Windsor / FEMA Loans

According to the Mercer County Office of Emergency Management, East Windsor Residents and Businesses may be eligible for FEMA Loans to aid in recovery from the March 12 nor’easter. Disaster loans up to $200,000 may be available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters could be eligible for loans up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged and destroyed personal property. Rental assistance for temporary housing is possibly available for those whose homes are uninhabitable. Businesses and non-profits of any size may be eligible to borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets, as well as up to $1.5 million for small businesses that suffered disaster-related cash flow problems. Loans up to $500,000 may be available to farmers and other agriculture operators to cover property loss. Individuals who think they might be eligible for loan assistance under this program can begin applying immediately by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov.
