East Windsor, New Jersey, a township of over 26,000 residents, has much to offer the traveler. There is an abundance of hotels and motels such as Hampton Inn with its indoor heated pool and exercise room, Holiday Inn which offers a full complimentary breakfast and The Days Inn is great for families who have pets. They allow up to two pets per room.

There are many vacation rental homes in and near East Windsor like the Hepburn House, a 1880s Victorian with all modern amenities, will take you back in time. Some bed and breakfasts like the Inn at Glencairn are just 10 miles from the center of East Windsor. This beautiful property first recorded settlers on the site in 1697. Another delightful inn near East Windsor is the PeaceFields Inn. The elegant 1850 Georgian farm estate is on a quiet country road. There’s even a Luxury Wilderness Lodge by the woods.

Dining in East Windsor is delicious! You’ll want to try the Seafood Linguini Florentine at the American Diner, or stop by Basil’s Legends for one of their lamb chop specialties. The City Street Cafe offers a variety of dishes; sushi, hamburgers, salads and Panini’s. A great place to go to watch sports events! All these fine restaurants are right in East Windsor.

After all that good food, you can walk it off on one of many walking and hiking trails at Etra Park. Bring your fishing gear because fishing is great at Peddie Lake. Or, just 20 minutes from East Windsor are Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park, Wild Safari and Hurricane Harbor. Wild, crazy roller coasters like El Toro, Nitro, Superman and the new Bizarro will give you a thrill a minute. Less than five miles down the road is the Wild Safari, where you come face to face with the wildest creatures on earth. Keep those car windows up and enjoy the fun! Take the family over to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor for some water-powered fun. You can slide, splash, dive, swim, float or ride your way through gallons and gallons of water. Once you’re dried off, it’s time for a trip to the Field of Terror right in East Windsor. Here you can go on a heart pounding hayride for the thrill of a life time. The Haunted Corn Maze has surprizes at every turn. Don’t like having your socks scared of you? Then try the Family Friendly Flashlight Maze. Bring your own flashlight and enjoy a non-scary, fun walk through the maze. Throughout the Field of Terror are concessions of wonderful food and drinks.

East Windsor offers everything the family is looking for in a great vacation!

I am new to East Windsor but I have only found 2 dog parks so far and both are located outside of East Windsor.

The 1st is Mercer County Bark Park it is located at 334 South Post Road, West Windsor (directions) and has two dog park areas, one each for large and small dogs. This is a public park so shot records are not required and there is no admission fee. The park is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, dawn to dusk. I have been a few times with my dogs and have had a positive experience.

The other local dog park I am aware of is the Rocky Top Dog Park located at State Hwy 27 (a.k.a. Lincoln Hwy) Princeton, NJ 08540 . It is a bit of a drive, around 20mins but well worth it. This park is a private park. It is only open to the public on weekends from 12-4pm. If you are going for the 1st time bring your shot records, they will not let you in without them. The cost is $10 for the 1st dog, $5 for the 2nd.

Every time I have visited the park with my two dogs there have always been plenty of friendly dogs to play with. They have over 3 acres for the dogs to enjoy. The park is great in the spring and summer if your dogs enjoy the water.

If you are aware of any other dog parks please share. Thanks.

For twenty-five years, two guys from Brooklyn – John Flansburgh and John Linnell have been playing with listeners’ heads while selling 4 million
copies of thirteen albums and moving from cult figures to the
mainstream. In the process, they have spawned a whole generation of
“nerd rocker” bands and just plain geeks with songs about thermostats,
metal detectors, and President James Polk. In the late 90s, the dynamic
duo began expanding its horizons into television (13 videos for MTV),
movies, and the internet, contributing songs and the opening themes to Austin Powers: the Spy Who Shagged Me, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and the Grammy-winning song “Boss of Me” for Malcolm in the Middle. Last year, Flansburgh and Linell released their latest CD, The Else, and launched their free monthly podcast which has turned into a national underground favorite (available on iTunes and at tmbg.com). The Village Voice put it this way: “They make being defiantly uncool look and sound unbelievably cool!”

From the bombastic and epic to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out have captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin as has no other tribute band. Just as the Fab Faux have done for The Beatles, these six Philadelphia -based musicians don’t attempt to mimic the band’s live shows. Instead, they stand and deliver the LZ studio recordings with all the bells and whistles attached, re-creating the songs in all their depth and glory, with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin itself never performed live. Each evening’s two-hour set spans the mythic career of the legendary British supergroup, with a strong focus on the early years, but also touching on deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever, heard in concert.
